Bang Street Food is located in the wonderful Surrey Hills, offering delicious Bangladesh street food. The restaurant is small and intimate and some tables are communal, the service is prompt and friendly and the food was faultless. Being one of my favourite cuisines I was only too happy to visit Bang, we left feeling very satisfied and would happily return.
We started by sampling a couple of cocktails. I ordered the ‘Water Lily’, mixed with Gin and Strawberry Liquour, muddled Strawberries, Elderflower and Lemon juice. A refreshing cocktail with floral notes, very enjoyable. My partner ordered the ‘Black Market Sugar’, which comprised of Vodka, Coconut and Cardamom Milk, and Black Market Sugar Mix. An interesting drink, well worth trying.
Moving on to our starters, we ordered the Fuska dish, which is Spiced Potato, with Coriander, Green Chilli, Shaved Egg and Tamarind Water. This dish was absolutely superb. We also ordered the Dal Puri with Fried Roti, and Spiced Lentils. Equally as delicious, we were happy to send our plates back clean.
“We left feeling very satisfied and would happily return again.”
For our main courses we ordered Goat Curry with Chat Potato and Green Chilli. This was the highlight of the evening for me, it’s hard to put into words just how satisfying this dish was. We also ordered the Lamb Shoulder Blade served with Okra, Mint Yogurt, and Black Salt. The Lamb was cooked to perfection, tender and delicious. We added a side of Pulau Kalijeera Rice to complete our dishes.
To finish we shared a Dark Chocolate Kulfi. This was refreshing and the perfect simple dessert to complete our evening. We enjoyed a bottle of Monte Velho Tinto, Douro, 2012 throughout.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was superb, the service and ambience was a blast.
