Unfortunately I don't have much to say about Lammars, this was recommended to me as good cocktail bar by my hotel in Manchester, so I was looking forward to it.

On arrival I asked for a cocktail menu, I was told to go through to the back room to the cocktail bar, after doing that I was told the cocktail bar was closed but was given a menu anyway and told to order at the bar I was first at, I went to take a seat to decide what cocktail I would like only to realise the menu consisted of 5 cocktails, I went to the bar and asked for a vodka based cocktail with fresh fruit and a sugared rim, I was told all fruit was fresh and not juice so I was looking forward to this. I watched the cocktail guy prepare my drink only to see he was putting salt around my rim rather than sugar, when I asked why he was using salt he said this was due to not having any sugar.

My drink arrived looking like a cordial drink from school which was clearly just purée chucked in with a splash of vodka, this to me is not classed as a cocktail especially when your in a bar which is meant to be a cocktail bar not just a bar at Butlins.

Whilst trying to enjoy my drink, a waitress came over and said we had to move from this table unless we were eating, as we only fancied cocktails we had to move to another table at the other end, after moving and looking at the food menu we realised they had a few nice looking tapas dishes which would of worked ok whilst having a drink or two, so we went back to the table we was moved from to then be told that they were no longer able to serve food as they were expecting to many guests and said the chefs would need 1 and half hours to prepare any food for us, I explained we only wanted 2 or 3 small tapas dishes but this didn't help, I spoke with the assistant manager hoping he would have a little more sense and realise this wasn't a big ask of us, however I was informed that this was the case and the chefs were unable to cook for any more people, this was 7.45 and I'd say there was only about 8 people eating at this point, it wouldn't be so bad, but it was frustrating as we were moved from the table for not wanting to eat.

So if your in Manchester and fancy a not so good cocktail and a restaurant that can't cope with more than 8 or 9 people then this is the place for you, on a positive note, the venue itself feels quite trendy, if they reviewed their cocktail menu and looked at their staff issues then I'd give it another go.
