Located in Los Angeles, Universal Studios is the ideal day out for the whole family, regardless of ages. We thoroughly recommend getting a Front of Line pass when you visit, this pass allows you to jump to the front of the line on any attraction once. This means you can guarantee you will be able to experience each of the attractions in the park at least once, regardless of how busy it is.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has just opened which is a truly magical experience. The attention to detail and the quality of the set is phenomenal, the attraction does a really good job of making you feel like you’re in another dimension as you totally lose yourself in the magic of it. There are two rides within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter; Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and the Flight of Hippogriff. The Forbidden Journey is an amazing experience, you’re transported to Hogwarts on a gripping 3D motion adventure. The Flight of Hippogriff is a family friendly roller coaster which is also rather thrilling.
"A trip to Universal Studios isn’t complete without taking the Studio Tram Tour."
Other highlights include the Jurrasic Park ride, which is a river cruise water adventure which concludes with an 84 foot water plunge, and believe us when we say you will get totally soaked! If you’re a thrill seeker you will love the Revenge of the Mummy, which is an indoor rollercoaster. You are in complete darkness with added extras to make you jump and scream your lungs off. It also goes backwards, so watch out and don’t say I didn’t warn you.
A trip to Universal Studios isn’t complete without taking the Studio Tram Tour. We experienced the Night Time Tour which is a new edition. The film sets are lit which provides added wow value, and Norman Bates’ entrance at the Bates Motel is definitely more eerie in the dark. Another recent addition to the Tram Tour is the Fast and Furious experience which is another attraction for the thrill seekers looking for some high-speed car chases.
It goes without saying that you will enjoy Universal Studios more if you’re a movie buff, but the exhibits stand alone as entertainment experiences regardless of whether you are familiar with the characters. There is even a Krustyland for lovers of The Simpsons. There are lots of opportunities throughout the parks to have your photo taken with your favourite cartoon characters so keep your camera handy.
There is so much to do and so many different attractions we’re sure you’ll have a great day out. We certainly did and we left with lots of fun memories, this is a must visit.
