68 and Boston is located in the colourful Soho area of London. There are two parts to 68 and Boston, you have the wine bar downstairs for those looking for a casual glass of wine after work, and a cocktail bar up upstairs for those looking to explore some interesting flavours and creations. We recommend visiting the cocktail bar as the design features and menu are much more inspiring and we’re sure you’ll find something to make your visit a memorable one.
We started downstairs in the wine bar, I ordered a glass of 2015, La Poggere Est! Est!! Est!!!, di Montefiascone, Italy. A Delicate Straw-yellow wine, offering aromas of apple, citrus, and white flowers. My partner ordered a glass of 2014, Torricella Orvieto Classico, Italy. An easy to drink wine with a nice crisp, mineral taste, and a perfect way to start an evening.
For my next choice I ordered a glass of 2014, Jean Biecher Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France. This was a dry white wine, it delivered aromas of peach, apple, and floral notes, very interesting, and very satisfying. My partner opted for a glass of 2014, St Jacques Reserve Viognier, France. Another splendid wine, delivering soft fruits and floral notes.
“The menu at 68 and Boston has something for everyone.”
Moving upstairs into the cocktail bar I opted for the ‘Nothing Rhymes with Purple’, a delicious cocktail comprising of Habanero and Beetroot Infused Ketel One Vodka, Malbec, Lime Juice, Celery Syrup, Egg White, and Apple Juice. This cocktail has a lot of flavours hitting the palate, as mixology goes this works perfectly. My partner ordered the ‘Call of the Wild’, this cocktail was mixed together with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Peach Infused Lillet Rouge, Grapefruit Cordial, and Chocolate Bitters. The mix of citrus tones, with a fine bourbon, hint of chocolate make for an interesting cocktail, and we would happily order this one again.
We experienced both the wine bar and the cocktail bar during our visit and enjoyed each drink we sampled. The menu at 68 and Boston has something for everyone, so whether you wish to just relax nursing a glass of wine or explore their cocktail menu, you’re going to leave satisfied I’m sure.
