Saint Judes in Glasgow is a boutique hotel with a quirky, chic feel. Central to the action on Bath Street in the city. It’s cool, trendy and a nice place to stay.

The exterior is an ivy coloured building with freshly painted white sash windows and a blue neon sign by the door. Walking through the glass doors, you see a small seating area with leather winged chairs and the reception desk.

The staff greeted us warmly and had us checked-in in no-time. Our bags were taken upstairs and we followed a short time later. We were lucky enough to have secured the penthouse for our stay, so were looking forward to the experience.

We had to climb stairs to get to the top, but the black painted iron stairs took the edge off. The room itself was a decent size with high ceilings, large doors and a nice feeling about it. For a penthouse, it was just what we were expecting. It’s apparently the largest square footage in Glasgow.

The room was well presented, with a large bed at one end. The bed was firm but comfortable, the bed linen pristine and white. The pillows were soft and comfortable, and the whole sleeping experience was a pleasant one.

The bathroom was equally well appointed, with a stainless steel bath and good quality fixtures and fittings. The towels where thick and white, and it was nice to just wrap up in one after a bath.

There is a seating area to the side, which had two sofas. There were comfortable enough and gave us somewhere to sit while waiting around. The decoration is light walls, and dark furnishings and accents. There is a hint of silver and chrome around which ties the whole suite together.

The service was first rate, the reception was friendly, room service was fast, and the phone was answered on the first ring. Even if we had wanted to find fault with Saint Judes, we can’t. The room was great, the staff were friendly and we slept well. Those are the hallmarks of a good hotel.
