The Seven Sins of Michael Bonsor

    Hotel Manager, Rosewood London
    Michael Bonsor

Working at iconic hotels such as The Pierre and the Four Seasons in New York and opening restaurants including L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon.

On returning to London, Michael began his British career at Claridge’s as the Food & Beverage Manager then becoming the Hotel Manager of this iconic hotel.

Wrath - What makes you angry about the hospitality industry?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
Bad service - there is just no excuse for it, but you get many excuses! No matter at what level we operate at, service is at the heart of everything. Whether in a diner of an exclusive resort it has to be what customers expect and more.

Greed - If all your food fantasies came true what would be on your Plate?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
I am very lucky (or not) to eat out most evenings. So I have few food fantasies left! But I love game and so the shooting season brings me the best Grouse right now.

Sloth - What do you do to unwind?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
I don’t really unwind, the iPhone is forever vibrating! However I did just come back from Jumby Bay in The Caribbean. It was exquisite, private island off Antigua, no cars and enough space to find your own paradise.

Pride - What are you most proud of?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
Making my father proud, he was a wonderful hotelier and was so supportive and proud of my achievements.

Lust - Is there anything that you are still lusting to achieve?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
Always after something! Are we ever satisfied in this day and age?

Envy - who are you most envious of?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
    People who can retire early!

Gluttony - have you ever over indulged?
    Michael Bonsor Seven Sins
Quite often, but then life is short and you have to live it, as if today was the last!
