The B2 Boutique Hotel in Zurich is a converted brewery with a wealth of history, offering a unique and enjoyable experience. It's a four-storey, 60 room hotel, so you're getting a large hotel experience along with the intimate boutique feeling. The location is great too, it's only 10 minute walk into the city centre, or Lake Zurich and its Rentenwiese Park.

The staff are extremely helpful and provide a well executed service. B2 management have a Guest Ambassadors system in place, meaning that the first person who greeted you when you arrived remains your personal point of contact. This works well and helps establish a bond, minimising the chance of mis-communications adding a nice touch to your visit.

"The ultimate selling point for this hotel is the rooftop swimming pool."

We stayed in one of their suites. It was a modern and minimalist designed suite, with a split level. It has an industrial terrace overlooking the roof, however the terrace has wire which obscures your view somewhat. But it's a pretty, arty design, and for those who are secretly urban minded - I'm sure you'll be impressed. The suite had a standalone bath on the upper level next to the bed, and a downstairs shower in the living area. It comes with a complimentary mini bar containing a selection of soft drinks, wine and beer.

The ultimate selling point for this hotel is the rooftop swimming pool and the underground pools. This is like a network of different pools and spa areas, and provides an experience that feels like you're stepping into a secret water world. There are thermal spa pools, 'Irish-Roman' spa ritual pools and pampering areas. This was the highlight of our visit and a very special experience indeed.

If you're in the Zurich area I recommend the B2 Boutique Hotel, if not only for the pools and spa. You'll come out feeling refreshed and with some memorable experiences. There is plenty to keep you entertained in the hotel, plus a Wine Library to explore. Making a stay at B2 enjoyable for anyone looking for a short break, or a longer stay to explore and enjoy the wonderful city of Zurich.
