It doesn’t happen often, but every once in a while, you come across a hotel that captures a special place in your heart. Palazzo Manfredi is such a place. Hidden away in the heart of Rome, and within sight of the magnificent Coliseum, you’ll be utterly enchanted from the moment you set foot in the hotel.
It’s not just the gorgeous views that the rooms offer, although they are most definitely breathtaking. Our suite, the Ludus Magnus, was situated perfectly to take in the sight of the ancient structure and all the comings and goings around it. You can actually enjoy an entire day soaking in the city without ever leaving the comfort of your suite.
"There's nothing else quite like it."
Of course, with so many sights to see, you’ll want to get out and explore, and who could blame you. Just be sure you save plenty of time to enjoy the hotel itself, because it is built over an archaeological dig site, so it’s rather akin to living out your own personal “Night at the Museum,” but in much more luxuriant surroundings.
The Ludus Magnus suite in particular includes a pair of seated windows offering views of the city and the city’s most famous structure that you simply can’t get anywhere else.
As beautiful as the suite is, the bathroom deserves a special mention, because its design is inspired by the famous Roman baths of old. Of particular interest is the shower, which reveals the splendour of the surrounding city through a veil of glass, allowing you to enjoy it in complete and utter privacy.
The wonders of the hotel don’t stop there, however. During the course of your stay, and perhaps after an afternoon spent exploring the city with the early evening spent down in the archaeological site, you’ll want to head to the rooftop where a splendid surprise awaits you in the form of the Aroma restaurant. A one of a kind dining experience you won’t want to miss.
