Upon entering Hotel Bel Ami you can't help but notice the design focused bar area. We were instantly drawn to this area and simply had to sample their fabulous cocktail menu. The interior decor is very modern chic, with lots of whites and neon lightning. The most exciting factor is that there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. You can choose between huge lounging chairs, swinging bubble chairs, or anywhere else you care to place yourself. It's a very enjoyable place to spend the evening.

I started by trying a Gin Fizz cocktail, made with Jus de Citron, Sucre de Canne, and Soda. A very refreshing cocktail with a nice sweet, citrus kick. My partner had the B.A Martini, made with FAIR Quinoa Vodka, FAIR Goji Liqueur, Jus d’ananas, Fraise, and Menthe Fraiche. Another wonderfully refreshing cocktail, very easy on the palette.

“The Hotel Bel Ami bar is a great place for cocktails and light bites.”

For a second cocktail I had the aptly titled Before My Detox, made with FAIR Quinoa Vodka Infusé au thé Détox, Jus d Ananas, Jus de Fruit de la Passion, Blanc d œuf, and Cali Bitter. A splendid collection of flavours, certainly a cocktail I would try again. My partner chose the Pink Julep, fixed up by mixing Bourbon, Jus de Cranberry, Menthe Fraîche, Framboises Fraîches, and Citron vert. Another great tasting cocktail, we would have loved to have spent the whole evening sampling many more, but unfortunately there are only so many cocktails one can drink in one evening.

We ordered a bottle of Georges Du boeuf Morgon, 2011. A wine with a splendid balance of black currant, plum, and rose flavours. Incredibly smooth on the palate, and very enjoyable.

We decided to sample the Bel Ami Cheese Burger as we were feeling peckish. Remembering that this is the bar and not the restaurant we were eating in, we were more than impressed with the food. The burgers were cooked exactly how we specified, and tasted perfect.

The Hotel Bel Ami bar is a great place for cocktails and light bites, we had a superb evening. As absolute must if you’re staying in the hotel, we give it a stamp of recommendation.
