The Oast House is located in Manchester's Spinningfields. It’s a pub style restaurant, with a rustic feel and nicely designed décor. It’s a step away from the typical modern day characterless designs that are becoming all far too common.

To begin we shared a serving of Avocado, Bacon and Lancashire Blue Salad. There was plenty for two, and the salad was very crisp and fresh. The staff were attentive and familiarised themselves with us straight away, giving us a real personable and friendly feel.

“I give this eatery a firm recommendation.”

We ordered a bottle of 2013, Vellas Sauvignon Blanc, Valle Central, Chile, a super simple wine with aromas of Grapefruit and Pineapple, with notes of fresh Peaches and Apples.

Moving on to our main course we ordered the Chicken Hanging Kebabs, which is a novel spectacle to see. The skewers were presented on a metal stand which allows the skewer to hang vertically, in turn allowing the sauce to drip onto a bowl of fries underneath the meat. Sopped with Sweet Chili and Ginger, completed with sides of Mustard Seed and Red Cabbage Coleslaw, and Corn on the Cob.

It was certainly not a disappointment, the food was delicious and cannot be faulted. The ambience was joyful, there was a real buzz of excitement in the air. The hanging kebabs are a real feature of Oaste House, but whether you are there for them or not, I give this eatery a firm recommendation.
