Wilshire restaurant is located between Santa Monica and Hollywood, during our visit, we were fortunate enough to be sat outside on their wonderful terrace, which was a very relaxing spot indeed.
The surroundings at Wilshire are fairly casual, and for that reason we were a little unsure as to what we could expect from the menu, however, I’m pleased to say we were pleasantly surprised.
To start, we chose the Hamachi cucumber salad with yuzu koshu and cilantro; as well as the special of the day - lobster ravioli. The dishes were both superb, boasting beautifully fresh flavours. The lobster ravioli was a particular highlight.

For our main courses, we opted for the 8oz hanger steak with olive oil and Worcestershire marinade, and the 8oz classic filet of prime tenderloin. As side dishes, we opted for the roasted cauliflower with raisins, pistachios, curry and honey; the Yukon mashed potato with butter and sea salt; and the absolute pinnacle of the meal - the shaved Brussels sprouts with pecans and cranberries. The Brussels sprouts were particularly incredible, and complimented the perfectly cooked steak ideally.
With all the success of the previous two dishes, we simply could not pass up on dessert. We opted for the sticky toffee puffing with crème fraîche ice cream, and the flourless German chocolate cake with salted caramel, coconut ice cream and pecans. The chocolate cake was simply heavenly.
We were delighted with our visit to the Wilshire restaurant, and would certainly return again. If you’re looking for good food in a relaxed and casual environment, then this is the place for you. The service was friendly, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere on the terrace. Be sure to check it out if you’re ever in the area.
