We dined at Botaga Louis last year and were impressed with the experience. So we were happy to be visiting again to sample more from their menu.

To start we ordered the Tomato Soup, which was a simple but well executed dish. It was prepared with Tomatoes, Basil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Fleur de Sel and a spoon of Crème Fraiche. The soup had a lovely creamy texture. We also sampled the Kale Salad, which included Taylor Farms Organic Baby Kale, Cherry Tomatoes, Parmigiano Reggiano and a superb Buttermilk Anchovy Dressing. We loved the dressing, it was most flavoursome.

Our main dishes were the Salmon, served with Organic Scottish Salmon Roasted in Parchment Paper Papillote with Olive Oil Poached Potatoes, Tomatoes, Fennel Confit, Bell Peppers and Radish, this was superb. My partner had the Rib Eye, Grilled Bone-in Rib Eye served with Pommes Frites and a creamy Béarnaise Sauce. Both dishes were wonderfully presented, and we were more than happy to return the plates clean.

"The selection of macaroons was the highlight of our visit."

For dessert we sampled 12 of their Macaroon's. These came in a selection of different flavours, and were simply divine. We had the following flavours; Coconut - Valrhona White Chocolate and Thai Coconut Ganache, Praline - Praline Buttercream with fresh Valencia Orange Zest, Vanilla - Tahitian Vanilla Infused White Chocolate, Salted Caramel - Salted Caramel and Milk Chocolate Ganache, Raspberry - Dark Chocolate Ganache and Raspberry Jam, Grand Cru - Dark Chocolate Ganache, Espresso - Coffee Ganache, Mango - Valrhona White Chocolate and Mango Ganache, Strawberry - Strawberry Buttercream and Candied Strawberries, Violet Cassis - Violet Buttercream and Cassis Ganache, Earl Grey - Eary Grey Infused Milk Chocolate Ganache, and Pistachio - Sicilian Pistachios and White Chocolate Ganache.

We recommend Bottega Louie for those seeking that casual dining experience, with a range of tasty dishes. The selection of macaroons is an experience in itself, and was the highlight of our visit. We'd happily visit again in the future.
