Gigi's restaurant is in the Mayfair area of London, and can be found just off Bond Street. This is a great location that's easily get to by transport or by foot, and offers plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Open from 12pm to 12am Monday through Saturday, Gigi's offers some innovative and intriguing lunch and dinner menu's.

We opted for a table by the window, for those who like a spot of people watching the view doesn't get much better than this. The overall feel of the restaurant is very intimate, and the service is very attentive and prompt all round.

"There is nowhere to pick fault with the food, each dish looks and tastes perfectly prepared."

We ordered cocktails on arrival. A Black Velvet, which includes 12yr aged Chivas Regal, fresh raspberry, blackberry, lemon, cranberry and apple juice gomme, and a touch of egg white. We were also tempted by a grape Martini, made up of Grey Goose vodka, red grapes, lemon juice, and gomme. Both cocktails were absolutely divine, can't recommend them enough.

We decided on a bottle of Chianti Natio, Cecchi, organic. 2012 when I outlined what we would probably be eating. Natoi is a lively, ruby red, fruity wine. With a gentle balance of aromatic hints of plum, blueberry, and cherry. Perfectly fitting in a restaurant that specialises in modern Italian dishes.

To begin we had Cornish sea bass tartare, with avocado, orange, and sea aster. Also, potato gnocchi, with sprouting broccoli, chilly, and parmesan. The food was bought out promptly, was delicious and a fine appetiser.

For our main courses we settled on fillet beef lemon, with potatoes, black cabbage and yellow roots dressing. Also ordered was the salt marsh lamb, with heritage carrots, sheep's milk, and crunch shallots. I ordered a side of mash potatoes too as I wanted to try their mash. There is nowhere to pick fault with any of the food, each dish looks and tastes perfectly prepared.

We didn't have any desserts as we were sufficiently full. The whole experience was an absolute delight, and the staff are a credit to such a fine establishment. I whole-heartily recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a complete Italian dining experience.
