London’s Buddha Bar is a regular haunt of ours. In fact, we rarely go too long without paying one Buddha Bar a visit, depending on where we are in the world. We simply love the restaurant’s ambiance, with its low level lighting and chic interiors. We’re always excited to visit a Buddha Bar, and this was no exception.

On this occasion, we arrived a little early, so we decided to have a drink at the bar, prior to being seated. We decided on two glasses of Taittinger Prestige Rose, which we thoroughly enjoyed as we chatted and soaked in the atmosphere. We were then shown to our table, where we enjoyed an aperitif whilst browsing the menu. I chose the Blue Knightsbridge cocktail, which saw a mix of Hennessy Fine de Cognac, Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and peach bitters; and my partner chose the Green Tee, which saw Hendricks gin shaken with fresh cucumber, apple juice, lime juice, sugar syrup, mint and egg white. Both cocktails were beautifully created and certainly hit the spot.

For our starters, we decided to share the California sushi rolls which came served as six pieces with inside out king crab, cucumber and avocado roll. We also shared their Chicken Satay, served with peanut sauce; and lastly we went for their Shiro miso soup with Shimeji mushrooms, tofu and wakame. As always at Buddha Bar, the food was so fresh, and really delivered in flavour. We were in foodie heaven.

“As always, it comes highly recommended by us for it’s sensational food and service. We can’t wait to return.”

For my main course, I decided on none other than the roasted black cod, prepared with lemongrass miso. The fish was simply divine, being expertly prepared, and the lemongrass miso added an abundance of fragrant seasoning. My partner went for the impressive 120g Wagyu beef served with truffle butter. This was a decadent dish that was full of indulgent earthy flavours from the truffle, with the meat being incredibly tender and flavoursome. To accompany our choices, we added a side of their most delicious coconut, cashew and egg fried rice.

Alongside our meal, we chose a bottle of the 2014 Marchesi Antinori Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy. This highly drinkable red wine was a real hit for us, being full of berry flavour with a finish of soft tannins. Regrettably we simply couldn't manage dessert, as we had over indulged, so we thoroughly recommend saving the room if you can, as the desserts at Buddha Bar are certainly very special indeed.

Once again we had a fabulous time at Buddha Bar London, and we know for definite that we will be returning in the future. As always, it comes highly recommended by us for it’s sensational food and service. We can’t wait to return.
