Stoke Park is a beautiful country house hotel which can be found in the county of Buckinghamshire. This 18th-century manor house is set within acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, which are some of the most wonderful we have come across. With its picturesque lake and rolling golf course, the idyllic setting of this hotel makes for an impressive first impression, and one that thankfully lasts throughout the duration of your stay.

Having visited Stoke Park on numerous occasions previously, we were absolutely thrilled to be returning and felt a welcoming sense of familiarity as we arrived into the hotels stunning grounds. We entered into the lobby where we breathed a sense of calm as we took in the grand space once again. We were checked-in by a smiling member of the team before being shown to our suite.

Stoke Park offers two separate buildings in which their accommodation is offered. The mansion house hosts 21 rooms which are more traditional in style, and The Pavilion is home to a further 28 bedrooms that offer a more modern design. The Pavilion is also home to Stoke Park’s spa.

“The staff are a delight, the rooms are wonderfully comfortable, the facilities are second-to-none and the setting is picture perfect.”

During our stay we experienced the Pennsylvania Suite, which can be found in the mansion building. This suite is generously spacious and offers an exceptional four-poster bed which holds a wealth of character. The suite also boasts a sitting area complete with a sofa, armchairs and a coffee table with stunning views across the grounds including the lake and golf course, as well as an open fireplace for cosy evenings. You will also find a small desk complete with a espresso machine which is most welcomed of a morning. The marble bathroom is quite the scene with a walk-in shower, his and hers wash basins, as well as a sunken bath which is such a treat.

The spa at the hotel is definitely worth a visit. You could indulge in a treatment, or simply have a swim in their large indoor pool, but we would highly recommend paying a visit to their outdoor hot tub and sauna, which are also kept warm during the winter months, offering a very special experience. Of course for those feeling more active, you might wish to participate in a gym session, or even a day of golf. The beauty of Stoke Park is that there truly is something for everyone.

Foodies certainly won’t be disappointed with the restaurant offering either. Stoke Park offers a beautiful fine dining restaurant called Humphry's where seasonal British cuisine is served, along with a fantastic afternoon tea offering served in the Orangery, which we would highly recommend as an essential part of your visit. Stoke Park really does offer everything you need to keep you busy, or to relax depending on how you may wish to spend your time; all in the confines of a beautiful estate.

We would highly recommend Stoke Park as a beautiful country escape. This hotel has always failed to disappoint us, and each time we return, the wonder of the place is affirmed. The staff are a delight, the rooms are wonderfully comfortable, the facilities are second-to-none and the setting is picture perfect. It ticks all the boxes on our checklist for a relaxing countryside break.
